and approved,
the artwork is inked...
..carefully erased...

..and touched up.
The strange cotton animation glove with the fingers cut out
is called a 'mickey mouse glove', used to prevent smearing.

Unfinished production art; characters in each scene are animated in parts. First the body movements are perfected, after which the eyes and features added. Mouths are always the last elements to be added because they require lip sync animation, a wholly separate task.Here Don opts to use his GIANT PENCIL, another secret tool of the more resourceful animator
